Yesterday when I was driving in the POURING DOWN RAIN, the Christmas song came on the radio about the frightful weather and going on a sleigh ride and I just had to laugh and shake my head.
BUT we had some snow on Friday afternoon, the first official day of winter. We have only had two instances of light snow showers thus far, but today was some real snow …at least a half an inch to an inch. Alot of wind so most of it was blowing sideways but for a little while there it was laying.
The dogs and I went out and they were quite excited. The dogs were enjoying our first snowfall.
Jugsy was just TEARING around the yard. He ran around the yard at least three times and I just kept snapping pictures hoping to capture some good shots. Lilly is more subdued and he and I had to coax her to get her going. Oftentimes Lilly just looks at him as if “Will you EVER grow up ”
SCOUT, over at Claudia’s blog, Mockingbird Hill Cottage ( HERE ) reminds me of Lilly. I remember Claudia did a post showing Scout’s feet and it blew me away. Those were Lilly’s feet too …
Anyway…here are a few more shots. Jugsy is just a blur in some of them but that is how fast he was running. I guess he was dreaming of a White Christmas and got his wish! ( smile )
The people who were Lilly’s parents before me called her “Lilly Bear” Well with her ears flying in the wind doesn’t she look like some sort of dog / snow-bear mix ? I actually took some pics of Lilly inside the house the other day to do a post about her story after Christmas and will do so but for now….here she is enjoying the first snow of 2012 on the day that the world did not end ( thus far, anyway )
And finally once you DO get her going ? She shows Jugsy who is boss here since she moved in .
Seriously, she cracks us all up…if anyone of us gets some rough play going in the house with Jugsy, then her herding instincts come into play and she’ll jump in and herd him away from us.
