I had a little kitchen garden going…and if you look at the hyacinths in the front row they were starting in these little vases.
Once they shot up and opened, the vases were not holding the weight of the blooming flower. I was going to have to move them to bigger vases. And oh….the heady wonderful scent of them …I just love hyacinths.
I did a little rearranging and one thing led to another. Generally I leave the generic winter decor up for awhile but suddenly I was impatient with snowmen and pinecones and so I put the remainder of them away. We’ve had cold, ice, snow….and now the 8 inches of snow is almost melted and it’s been raining on top of that. It is a muddy mess. It feels like the end of February. It was about 60 degrees yesterday and I knew that later on today it was going up to 66! A bit unusual for Western PA but I am not complaining ( smile )
So this morning I made a little garden on one of my room dividers. I think that I may hit the garden department at Lowe’s or Home Depot in the next few days and start some more bulbs in those little vases and see how they come along. For now I am enjoying my miniature indoor garden and I still have an Amaryllis that should come into bloom in a few weeks.
